Cabinet meet fails to finalise budget date
Puducherry, Mar 10 (UNI) The Puducherry cabinet today met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Rangasamy to finalise a date for the budget session of the Assembly.
However, the meeting ended within a few minutes without finalising it.
A minister on condition of anonimity said all the five ministers sought some clarifications, through a letter signed by them, from the Chief Minister, and refused to accept the date suggested by the Chief Minister and came out of the meeting.
Earlier, the five ministers had a seperate meeting with Health Minister E Valsaraj at his residence, and they came to the cabinet meeting late.
After the meeting, the ministers again met the Health Minister.
It may be noted that with the relationship between the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues turning sour, the five had joined together and raised a banner of revolt against the Chief Minister forcing the Congress highcommand to intervene and sort out the matter.
The new political developement would make difficult to vigilance and anti-corrouption police to register cases against the Health Minister.
