All India festival highlights need to promote Sanskrit
Tirupati, Mar 10 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman B Karunakara Reddy today stressed that everyone, irrespective of their cast and creed, should learn Sanskrit.
Inaugurating a four-day All India Sanskrit Students' Festival, hosted by Tirupati-based Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidya Peetha (RSVP) here, he announced that the TTD would hike the annual grant of Rs 15 lakh to RSVP to Rs 50 lakh for promoting the language.
Youth had the responsibility to protect the glorious heritage and culture of the nation, Orissa Minister for Sports and Youth Devashish Naik, who was also present at the function, said.
The RSVP was the only Centre of Excellence, promoting Sanskrit and got 'A Plus' Grade from the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC), he said.
Nearly 200 participants from various sanskrit institutions of Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Delhi are attending the festival.
