21 killed, 40 injured in UP road accident
Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) At least 21 people were killed and 40 others grievously injured in separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh today.
According to police, at least six people died and 14 others were severely injured in separate road accidents in Bunlandshahr.
The accident occurred on Bulandshahr-Aligarh highway, where a car collided head-on with a tanker, killing three people on the spot.
Ten people injured in the accident were battling for life at hospital.
In another incident, three people died and four others were grievously injured after a speeding Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus dashed against an upcoming tonga near village Chaprawal in Gulawati area of the district.
In Kanpur, four people were killed and 15 others severely injured after a tractor-trolley, ferrying them, was hit by a truck.
Besides, a mother-son duo were killed and four others critically wounded when their car turned turtle in Panki area of Kanpur.
In Mirzapur, a scooter-borne youth was crushed to death by a tractor near the Superintendent of Police (SP's) residence in Kotwali area.
Three people died and as many seriously injured in a road accident in Deoria district of the state.
Reports said two 'baratis' were mowed by a speeding car in Dannahar area of Mainpuri.
Bodies had been sent for autopsy.
