UNPA claims Left support and closeness
Jaipur, Mar 9 (UNI) The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) today asserted that the party was ''developing an understanding'' with the Left including the CPI(M).
Talking to newspersons here, UNPA Chairman and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said they had the support of the Left parties.
He said CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat had recently participated in a dharna organising by the UNPA in New Delhi.
''We are developing understanding and closeness,'' Mr Yadav said.
However, the UNPA ruled out a possibility of alliance with Rastriya Lok Dal leader and former Union Minister Ajit Singh and said he had no place in our alliance.
''He is unreliable and has changed so many parties. He has no place in UNPA,'' former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala said.
