7,000 couples get married in TTD Mass Marriage
Hyderabad, Mar 9: Nearly 7,000 couples tied the knot during the third phase of mass marriages ('Kalyanamasthu') organised by the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams in the State today.
Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy blessed the newly-married couples at the Lalithakala Thoranam in the city distributing 'mangalsutras' to 158 couples.
The TTD had organised the mass marraiges at 294 constitutency headquarters throughout the state and provided all materials including 'mangalsutra,' clothes and rings free of cost besides organising mass feeding at the centres.
Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy and large number of people atttended the function.
