Notification for RS polls issued in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Mar 8: Notification for the Rajya Sabha polls to fill six seats from the Tamil Nadu Assembly was issued today.

An official release here said filing of nominations for the March 26 polls to the Upper House of Parliament, began here today to fill up the vacancy of six members whose term would expire on April two. The release said nomination papers could be submitted to the Returning Officer and Legislative Assembly Secretary M Selvaraj or to the Deputy Secretary and Assistant Returning Officer T Govindaraju between 1100 hrs and 1500 hrs.

The last date for filing of nominations was March 15 and the scrutiny would be taken up on March 17. The last date for withdrawal of nominations was March 19 and elections if necessary would be held on March 26.
