Namita and Pranitha bag eight in India's total of 15 gold

Jamshedpur, Mar 8 (UNI) Promising archers Namita Yadav and V Pranitha bagged four gold each in women's compound and recurve rounds respectively, while Raju Adonda notched up three gold in men's recurve as India got a total of 15 gold out of 16 on the second day of the three-day second South Asian Archery championship at the J R D Tata sports complex here today.

Pranitha excelled in 70, 60, 50 and 30 mt distance in recurve, while Namita also proved her supremacy in the same distance of compound round to fetch gold for the country.

In the men's recurve, Raju dominated in 90, 70 and 50 mt distance to annex gold, but lagged by two points in the 30 mt distance to Nepal's Prem Prasad Pun, who got the lone gold for his country in this event.

In the men's compound round also, the Indian archers reigned supreme by bagging all the gold. While Deepak Karmakar had two gold in 90 mt and 30 mt distance, Renso Purty and Sanjay Swansi got gold in 70 and 50 mt respectively.

In the men's recurve Bhutan got one silver and one bronze, while they did slightly better in the women's recurve by capturing one silver and two bronze.

In the men's compound round Nepal bagged four bronze in all the categories, while Sri Lanka god its first medal in the form of two bronze in the women's compound round.
