Kranti Manch demands review of all MoU by March 31
Bhubaneswar, Mar 8 (UNI) The Kranti Manch, a newly formed social Organisation, today demanded the state government to review the MoUs, signed with the big companies like Posco, TATA, Vedant and Jindal by March 31.
Kranti Manch Chairman Justice (Retd) Choudhury P K Mishra told newspersons here that the MoUs with these companies were signed against the interests of the state and should be reviewed.
''The MoUs posed a serious threat to the natural resources, environment and lives of the people of the state,'' he said.
Justice Mishra said the Kranti Manch at its meeting on March four had constituted 14 sub-committees to create public opinion for proper utilisation of the state's mines, water, land and forest and for environment protection.
The Manch would also strive for providing quality education to the weaker sections of people, particularly to the tribals, women and poor children, and would fight against injustice and corruption in the state.
If needed the Manch would resort to satyagraha and move the court to achieve its objectives, he said.
The Manch also demanded the Election Commission to initiate steps to ensure that all political parties declare their income and expenditure in public. It also asked the government strictly implement pollution laws, look into the allegation of corruption in health and education and stop allocating water meant for farmers to industry.
