Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) As many as 17 Prime Minister Police Medals were presented at the concluding function of the 51st All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) today where Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh bagged five medals each for protecting life of people in their respective states in the year 2005.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) Director General M K Sinha gave away the medals at the meet organised by the RPF for the first time in Mumbai in the 50 years since its inception.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) received three medals, Maharashtra two and one each was bagged by Delhi and Uttarakhand.
Speaking at the function, Mr Sinha said the police meet has been organised with an aim to provide training on scientific methods of investigation, on sabotage checking, on dog training, computer training and other aspects of investigations.
The AIPDM played vital role in improving investigation skills of the officers.
In this event, 975 police officers from different states came together and discussed about the system of investigation in their respective states, Mr Sinha added.
At the function, Maharashtra Director General of Police A N Roy, Central Railway General Manager Swami Raghavan and other high profile delegates were also present.
