US business delegation poised to strengthen ties with East India
Kolkata, Mar 07 (UNI) A high-powered US business delegation arrived here today with the objective of forging ties between Los Angeles-Long Beach and eastern India in public and private sector industries.
The delegation, which visited New Delhi and Mumbai earlier this week, will explore the business opportunities in various sectors such as logistics, health care, tourism, technology and transportation.
The trade mission is being supported by the US Consulate, Kolkata, and the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
Talking to mediapersons, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation CEO Bill Allen said '' The expertise exists in Los Angeles, which is home to the Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles, together making up the largest port complex in the US and the fifth largest in the world.'' Mr Allen stated that in addition to being the primary international trade hub of the US, Los Angeles is also its largest manufacturing hub.
''The delegation will therefore seek collaborative opportunities between Kolkata and Los Angeles in the manufacturing sector as well,'' he observed.
