New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Government today approved a Rs 5,368.37 crore reconstruction plan for natural-calamity affected states, to be implemented over a period of two years.
An additional grant of Rs 763.99 crore as Central assistance was also approved for the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by natural calamities during 2005 in the nine States, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting that gave the approval.
The affected States are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
''The nine States will implement the reconstruction plan during 2007-08 and 2008-09,'' Mr Dasmunsi said.
