Islamabad, Mar 7: Pakistan's nuclear scientist Dr AQ Khan's lawyer has said that "some quarters" of the present day administration were hatching conspiracy to eliminate his client before the formation of the new government in Islamabad. He alleged that the administration was not taking care of ailing Dr Khan who was suffering from high fever for the past few days.

Lawyer Ikaram Chaudhry also said that all the statements the last government had attributed to Dr Khan were baseless. But, when contacted for a reaction, the country's Caretaker Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz said that the lawyer's allegation was not of any importance and there was no need to give any comment on it. He further said that if anything happens to his client, he would file murder case against the rulers, including President Pervez Musharraf. "If any such attempt is made, I will file a murder case against the sitting rulers including President Pervez Musharraf," The Nation quoted the lawyer as saying to the media in Rawalpindi last evening.

Dr A Q Khan has been under house arrest for the past few years, after it was detected that he had transferred nuclear technology to other countries like North Korea and Libya.

He claimed that Dr Khan had been suffering from high fever for the last four days, and was not being given treatment intentionally by the relevant quarters. However, on Wednesday Dr. Khan was taken to hospital through the back door of his house silently, he said.
