Live bullets in passenger's bag leaves securitymen in tizzy
Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Chennai Airport after a securitymen detected live bullets in the baggage of a Kuala Lumpur-bound passenger, early today.
The Airport sources said, the alarm went off while scanning the baggage of S Paramasivan (47), a native of this city and a businessman, who was scheduled to board an Air India flight to the Malaysian capital.
When questioned, Mr Paramasivan denied carrying any explosives.
However, a physical check revealed the presence of five 7.65 mm live bullets, which were later seized.
Feigning ignorance, Mr Paramsivan said he had a licensed revolver and the bullets could have been put in the bag inadvertently by him.
After taking a statement from him, the passenger was allowed to board the aircraft.
