Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Opposition AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa and leaders of various political parties today greeted women on the eve of Women's Day.
In a message, Mr Karunanidhi, recalling the various welfare schemes launched for women in the state, wished them the best in the social, economic and poltics spheres.
Stating that the women community was progressing well in the state, he said the Centre would be pressed to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and Legislatures.
Ms Jayalalithaa, in her message, said though women had started dominating in all fields, they were still exploited and subjected to atrocities.
She called upon one and all to take a vow on the Women's Day to change the scenario and wished women all the best.
