Dubai, Mar 7 (UNI) India occupies the second spot in the LG ICC Test rankings behind Australia while South Asian rivals Sri Lanka are at the third position.
India (111 pts) trail Australia by 30 points. They can, however, can slip to the third position if fifth placed England (107 pts) make a sweep of the three-Test series against New Zealand (93 pts) who are at the seventh spot.
Australia is sure to retain its pole position and collecting the cheque of 175,000 dollars at the cut-off date of April 1.
South Africa (109 pts), who are scheduled to tour India later this month, are at the fourth spot.
Arch-rivals Pakistan (94 pts) are at the sixth spot while West Indies (73 pts) and Bangladesh (1 pts) are at the eighth and ninth positions respectively.
Although India will have played its first Test against South Africa (starting in Chennai from 26 March) and Sri Lanka will have completed its first Test against the West Indies (starting in Guyana from 22 March) before the cut-off date, the LG ICC Test Championship table is only updated after the conclusion of a series.
