Srinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) The Indian Air Force (IAF) today airlifted two seriously ill patients including a nine-year-old girl, from Kargil, and Machil.
Meanwhile, scheduled AN-32 flight, between Kargil to Srinagar and Kargil to Jammu, could not operate due to poor weather enroute, Mr Aamir Ali, Public Relations Officer (PRO) to Divisional Commissioner said.
He said seriously ill girl Stanzin Kunsal, daughter of Tsering Dorjay, was airlifted from a remote snow-bound village Tashi Stonday near Rangdum in Kargil by the IAF today.
Mr Ali said another patient, who had suffered brain hemorrhage was airlifted from Machil and admitted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences at Soura.
He said both these areas were snowbound and there was no other way to approach them except by air force choppers.
He said 15 stranded passengers were airlifted from Kargil to Zanskar in Mi-17 air force plane and an equal number of passengers arrived in Kargil from Zanskar.
