Security arrangement for counting in Tripura
Agartala, Mar 5 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made by Tripura police in view of possible post-counting violence in the state.
Tripura police has set up temporary pickets in all sensitive locations of the state, while extensive search was launched in hotels and bus terminus.
Speaking to UNI here today, Director General of Police(DGP) K T D Singh said, ''A company of CRPF, a huge contingent of Tripura state rifles and plain cloth forces would be deployed across the state from tomorrow.
The security of the state had been further strengthened in view of March 7 counting of Tripura elections and necessary search operations will be continued for at least another week,'' Mr Singh said.
He, however, pointed out that mobile police would be press into action along with canine squads and special force personnel to manage general law and order situation of the state.
The police and other paramilitary forces had been instructed to carry out preventive detention from today and ensure peaceful conduct of counting on the day, Mr Singh added.
