Patna, Mar 4 (UNI) Bihar Assembly Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhry today announced a probe into the financial irregularities in the Aanganbari by a special committee of the House, following din and bustle created by the Opposition on the issue.
Replying to a question of BJP member Bhola Singh in the state assembly, Bihar Welfare Minister Rameshwar Paswan said the welfare department had not received any report from the commissioner of Magadha division on irregularities by the child development project officer (CDPO) of the division.
He said actions had been taken on the basis of the reports of the flying squad constituted by the ICDS directorate. He said departmental actions had been initiated against 15 CDPOs on the basis of the reports of the district magistrate. The minister informed that four CDPOs and a woman observor were arrested during the raid by the vigillance.
Annoyed with the reply of the minister, the Opposition members trooped to the well and demanded that irregularities in the Aanganbari issue be checked.
Later, the Speaker announced to probe into the matter by the special committee of the House.
