SAF Athletic Championships from Mar 7

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 4 (UNI) As many as 267 athletes from the South Asian countries will take part in the first SAF Athletic Championships to be held at Kochi for two days from March seven.

State Sports Minister M Vijayakumar told newspersons here today that top athletes from eight countries would be seen in action.

He said 100 athletes from Sri Lanka, 70 from hosts India, 52 from Pakistan, 14 from Maldives, ten each from Bangladesh and Nepal, six from Afghanistan and five from Bhutan would take part in the event.

He said all the preparations have been completed for the event.
