New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court today seeking removal and suspension of Jharkhand Chief Secretary P P Sharma on the grounds that criminal cases were pending against him.
A petition filed by Mr Parshant Bhushan, a Supreme Court advocate, through his NGO also alleged that a criminal case was pending against Sharma for the last 20 years and another case of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy was pending against him in Patna.
The petitioner also demanded a CBI inquiry against those senior officers who shielded Sharma and appointed him on senior and important posts ignoring his dubious antecedents.
Sharma was appointed as Chief Secretary of Jharkhand in 2003 and was removed in 2006 but in November 2007, he was again appointed Chief Secretary of the state.
According to the petitioner, appointment of a person with dubious antecedents to the top post in the state sends wrong signals and appointment of a tainted person on such important post is not good for administration in the state.
