MP govt employees targeted 7,546 times
Bhopal, Mar 4 (UNI) As many as 7,546 incidents of assault and misbehaviour against Madhya Pradesh government employees were registered over the past four years, the Assembly was informed today.
In a written reply to Mr Ajay Singh (Congress), Home Minister Himmat Kothari said, ''The incidents were registered between April 1, 2004 and December 31, 2007 and 226 people had been sentenced in 117 cases.'' The Minister told Mr Kishor Samrite (Samajwadi Party) that a Rs 448-crore government scheme -- for checking Naxal activities in Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori districts -- was sent to the Centre in 2003 and the approval was pending.
