Imphal, Mar 4 (UNI) Life was today disrupted in Manipur following the Kangleipak Communist Party (Military Council) KCP (MC)-sponsored bandh.
The KCP(MC) observed ''Black Day'' today to protest the killing of its leader Leibakmacha along with 14 other cadres last year.
All business establishments and educational institutions remained closed and the streets wore a deserted look.
All inter and intra state bus services were also cancelled.
However, the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC examinations continued as usual without any problem.
The KCP(MC) also asked all the people of the state to switch off all lights for half an hour from 1830 hours today.
Security was beefed up in the state in view of the bandh call given by the militant outfit.
Police forces were deployed to ensure that the ongoing examinations and the Assembly session went on smoothly as usual.
Large contingents of security personnel were deployed in and around the Assembly premises.
Police said so far no untoward incident had been reported.
