Varanasi, Mar 4 (UNI) For the first time, the world famous Kashi Vishswanath temple authorities have decided to issue passes to pilgrims on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
Sources said devouts, who want to have the 'darshan' of Lord Vishwanath in the special category, will have to purchase the pass for Rs 501 from the temple office.
The temple would issue only 1,000 passes in this category and it would be given on the first come, first serve basis. These devotees would be allowed to enter through 'Neelkanth Dwar' along with the VVIPs, the temple authorities informed.
They would be taken to 'garbh grah' (sanctum sanctorum) via Tarkeshwar Mahadeo temple.
The temple will host nightlong 'arti' tomorrow. As per its tradition, the 'shayan arti' would not take place and the temple would remain open throughout the night,the sources added.
The 26th traditional Shiv Barat will also be taken out tomorrow evening. It will start from Mritunjay Mahadev temple at Daranagar and conclude in front of the famous Vishswanath temple.
One dozen ''jhankis,'' depicting different forms of Lord Shiva would form part of the procession. Besides, saints, snake charmers, elephants, camels, horses, and bands will be the main attraction of the Shiv Barat.
Various other programmes have also been organised in the city for the upcoming festival.
