CPI functionary hacked to death

Chennai, Mar 4: A Communist Party of India (CPI) functionary was hacked to death in broad daylight by a four-member gang at Pandavayaru Bridge in Tiruvarur District of Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said the activist was identified as Jayakumar (40), Mangudi Panchayat Union leader. The gang came in two two-wheelers, waylaid him and fatally attacked him. The motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
