Bulk Milk chillers to be set up in Mewat

Chandigarh, Mar 4 (UNI) Additional Bulk Milk Chillers (BMCs) will be established in Mewat region of Haryana through the National Diary Development Board (NDDB) to expand and supplement integrated diary development activities for benefiting the people of the backward areas of Mewat.

This was decided in a meeting of Mewat Development Board (MDB) held here at Haryana Raj Bhavan today under the Chairmanship of the Haryana Governor A R Kidwai. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda who is also the Senior vice-Chairman of the Board was also present in the meeting. under the NGC Vision 201 The Governor and the Chief Minister stressed the need for promoting Mewat as a Model Development Centre in the country by introducing various income generating schemes like dairying, piggery, poultry, horticulture and animal husbandry to benefit the poverty stricken people of the Mewat district of the state.

They also appreciated the initiative of the National Diary Development Board for establishing Bulk Milk Chillers (BMC) and agreed that there was a considerable scope for further expansion and development of this programme in Mewat.

It was informed in the meeting that the chiller plant would be installed by the NDDB at a cost of Rs 8.5 lakh per centre.

The BMCs would also be installed in more villages including scheduled caste dominated villages with the funds of the state government and Mewat Development Agency (MDA).

It was also decided in the meeting that the Larson and Toubro (L&T) Limited Company would establish its Construction Skill Upgradation Training Centre in Mewat for providing employment to the rural unemployed youth of Mewat in the fields of masonry, carpentry, bar bending and electrical without charging any training fees.

The candidates would be paid a stipend of Rs 2000 per month during the training along with free lodging. On successful completion of this training the youth will be given gainful employment by the approved contractors of L&T.
