Lucknow,Mar 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today expressed its deep concern over the kidnapping of a doctor from Gorakhpur and announced to engage Special Task Force (STF) to recover him, reportedly taken to Bihar by the criminals.
State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Lalji Verma replying to an adjourment motion said the medico C B Madhesia along with three others was kidnapped in Gorakhpur on Saturday night when he was returning from Deoria.
'' Three police teams have been sent to Bihar and STF would be engaged by the police for early recovery of the psychiatrist ''the minister said on the demand of the members that STF should be engaged. He also said the other three people who were kidnapped along with Dr Madhesia were released by the criminals at Hajipur in Bihar.
Raising the issue, BJP member Radha Mohan Das Agarwal said the criminals had demanded Rs 1.5 crore as ransom for the release of the doctor.'' As per the latest information, the doctor was last spotted at Hajipur in Bihar'', he said, adding that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) members were also holding demonstration in Gorakhpur today to protest the kidnapping.
Earlier, the assembly witnessed some noisy scenes after state PWD minister Nasimuddin Siddique and SP chief whip Ambika Choudhury traded charges against each other over non distribution of budget literature of the PWD department.
