Hyderabad, Mar 3 (UNI) With the TRS MPs, including party President K Chandrasekar Rao, submitting resignations from the Lok Sabha to Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, party Legislators in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Council are getting ready to put in their Speakers on March four and five.
Charging the Congress-led UPA Government with ''ditching'' the party on carving out a separate Telangana State out of Andhra Pradesh, TRS floor leader in the State Assembly G Vijayarama Rao told UNI that party MLAs and MLCs would submit their resignations to Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy and Council Chairman K Chakrapani as part of the party's long-standing demand for statehood for Telangana.
Urging Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs to follow suit to put pressure on Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to concede Telangana State, he said a broad consensus existed for creation of Telangana. It was the ruling Congress which had to make up its mind, he added.
Soon after putting in their papers, they would explain the people how the Congress had betrayed the TRS with which it had aligned in 2004 to oust the TDP out of power and urge them to get ready for a ''do-or-die'' battle.
