Tata Steel pay homage to its Founder

Jamshedpur, Mar 3 (UNI) Tata Steel today paid homage to its founder Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata on his 169th birth anniversary through various programmes and activites in its township on the ''Founder's Day''.

Several dignitaries, including Tata Steel Mangaging Director B Muthuraman, Directors of Tata Sons, CEO of Corus Philippe Varin and several others from the top company and its associate companies paid floral tributes to the statue of the legendary visionary and founder of the century-old company.

A colourful Founder's Day Procession was also taken out on this occasion, in which 42 units of various department of the company and its sister concerns took part.

A colourful pageantry was also organised with paticipation and support of the people of Jamshedpur and members of the local administration.

The pageantry included 19 floats from associate companies, social organisations, the RAF and the JAP.

An exhibition,showing the progress of Tata Steel in the past century, would remain open till March 7.
