Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 3 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray has announced that the party's agitation for getting loan waiver for beleaguered farmers would continue till all of them get the benefits.
Speaking to reporters here last night, while on his way to Shegaon in Buldana district, Uddhav said ''7/12 extract showing the property details of the farmers should be cleared of any loan entry.'' He said the state government should take the responsibility to waive the loans of medium and big farmers, as they too have suffered badly.
While criticising the NCP and Congress workers for claiming the loan waiver, the Sena working president asked them to own the responsibility of about 1.5 lakh suicides committed by the farmers.
He claimed that the Union government woke up from deep slumber and announced the waiver after his party had launched its massive agitation, seeking loan waiver.
Uddhav said he has decided not to accept any felicitation after the success of the party's agitation.
Claiming that the Shiv Sena alone cares for sons of the soil, he said ''Some people were given contract to divert attention of Maharashtrians from the Shiv Sena's contribution for them. But people are aware of these tactics and it would not affect the party in any way.'' Aurangabad MP Chandrakant Khaire and the Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut were also present at the briefing.
