Lucknow, Mar 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today gave approval to schemes worth Rs 282 crore under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.
Heading the first state level approval meet of the Yojana, state chief secretary Prashant Kumar Mishra said better irrigation facilties, including sprinklers and dripping, should be ensured in 141 development blocks of the drought-hit Bundelkhand region.
Besides, he noted that the groundwater level was reducing in those blocks.
The farmers should be provided proper training, so that animal husbandry could be expanded at the block level, the chief secretary noted.
Mr Mishra also ordered the early implimentation of work on these schemes.
