Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) Two students from a city-based college were injured when pranksters burst fire crackers in the institution after making a hoax call that a bomb had been planted in the premises.
The two first year students -- Ravikamal and Shweta -- received minor injuries after being hit by glass splinters when the window panes of the building broke under the impact of the crackers burst.
Dalmiya College principal Swati Aware informed that the college authorities had received an anonymous call in the morning saying that a bomb had been planted in the premises.
The police was duly informed. But, before the police could conduct searches, the fire-crackers burst in room number 25 on the third floor of the college.
Police said that the pranksters had tied a string of three fire-crackers to a burning incense stick and placed it near the window of the room. As the incense stick burnt and reached the end, it ignited the fire crackers, police said.
