Naxalites in India have ISI link: Tagodia
Bhubaneswar, Mar 3 (UNI) VHP International General Secretary Pravin Bhai Tagidia today alleged that the ISI had established links with the Naxalites in the country and was providing them weaponry support to destabilise India.
Mr Tagodia said the recent military intelligence report had revealed that the Maoists had established contact with the ISI in certain pockets.
''This is a dangerous and alarming trend which should be countered at any cost,'' he warned.
The VHP leader said the violence in Kandhmal in Orissa in December last, in which several houses belonging to Hindus were torched and attacked, 'clearly indicated' that some people in the Church have links with the Naxalites.
''The recovery of weapons from the house of a Christian family in Kandhmal also proves that some members of the comminity have established links with the ultras,'' he opined.
He said the recovery of rocket launcher from the Naxalites also indicated that the rebels in Andhra Pradeh had established links with the ISI and were fighting for Pakistan.
''Naxalites in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Orissa have some links with the Maoists of Nepal, Bangladeh and Pakistan and are trying to destabilise the country,'' he remarked.
To a question, Mr Tagodia urged tribal youths in the villages to join hands with the police to fight militancy. The VHP, he said, would approach the state government, even Congress-ruled ones, to extend their support to strengthen the networking among villagers to give a strong fight.
