Bangalore, Mar 3: Janata Dal(S) Karnataka unit president Merajuddin Patel today said his party would urge the Central Election Commission(CEC) to conduct assembly poll before the deadline for President's rule ends in May in the State.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said his party was ready to face the elections in May and would bring pressure on the CEC to hold the elections at the earliest. The party would place its demand for holding the poll in May before the CEC during its visit to the State tomorrow, he added. Mr Patel alleged that the Congress was attempting to postpone the election, as it is scared of losing the poll, if it is held in May. Referring to the allegation by a Congress leader that the JD(S)-BJP combine during their tenure added bogus voters in the voters list, he alleged that only the Congress was well versed in it.
