New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) A city court today framed charges of cheating against six Army engineers.
Special judge CBI Vinod Goel ramed charges against the chief engineers brigadier A K Soni, superintendent surveyor of works N B Singh and four other military engineering officials.
The CBI alleged that they had cheated the Army of more than Rs 20 lakh during the year 1994-95 by dishonestly awarding a contract for the supplies and installation of a mechanised laundry plant at Army Referral and Research Hospital.
The court framed charges under section 120(B), 420 (cheating) and various other sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 to which the accused pleaded not guilty.
The court fixed April 29 as the date for recording of evidence.
