Woman P O nabbed for duping people
Barnala, Mar 2 (UNI) Police nabbed a woman declared proclaimed offender for cheating a group of people of over Rs 10 lakh on false promise of sending them abroad.
SHO, Dhanola, Rajesh Chhibar said here yesterday that Navjeet Kaur, 29, was nabbed on Friday by Dhanola police from Urban Estate, Patiala and was sent into police remand for two days by a local court this yesterday.
Navjeet, a resident of Sahoke village in this district, was earlier arrested by police in December 2006 on the joint complaint of Darshan Singh and Manjit Singh of Bhattalan village, who alleged that she had taken Rs 10 lakh from them on promise of sending their sons abroad.
She was granted bail by the local court. She was later declared a Proclaimed Offender as she jumped bail and absconded.
However, on a tip-off she was nabbed by the Dhanola police last night, the SHO said.
