Mayawati suspends 2 govt officials for laxity
Meerut, Mar 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today suspended the commissioner of the Meerut Municipal Corporation and transferred the District Collector after conducting a surprise inspection at Dalit colony.
Ms Mayawati told mediapersons at Ambedkar airport before returning to Lucknow that Meerut is a sensitive town and any laxity here cannot be tolerated.
Ms Mayawati said she conducted a surprise inspection of Dalit Colony Shivpuri in Kankarkheda, Meerut. The roads were in a state of utter disrepair and there was no sign of cleanliness.
She said she has ordered suspension of Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Ashok Verma and transfer of District Collector Anil Kumar Sagar.
The Chief Minister had come to Meeurt in a state aircraft from where she was scheduled to leave for Haryana to address a rally. However, before leaving Meerut she conducted surprise visits of many shanties of Kankarkheda.
