Mayawati initiates probe against unauthorised varsities
Lucknow, Mar 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today directed the State Department for Home to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the illegally operational education institutions in the state.
According to official spokesperson, the state government came to know about nine universities which did not hold government recognition certificate.
The government had ordered the immediate closure of such unauthorised varsities and institutions, besides booking their owners under criminal charges yesterday.
Indian Education Council of UP, Lucknow; Maharana Pratap Shiksha Niketan University, Pratapgarh; Varanasi Sanskrit University, Varanasi; UP University Koshikala, Mathura; Gurukul University Vrandavan; National University of Electrocomplex Homeopathi, Kanpur; Gandhi Hindi Vidhyapith, Prayag, Allahabad; Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University and Open University Achaltal, Aligarh are under the scanner.
