London, Mar 2 : Nobody can beat Kathleen Dodd when it comes to having a sentimental attachment with shoes, for this 87-year-old British great grandmother has been wearing the same footwear for nearly 70 years now.
The shoes were a part of Kathleen's uniform when she served in the Land Army during the Second World War.
But, Kathleen was allowed to keep them afterwards and since then she has been wearing them.
She said she kept them for "sentimental reasons".
She was wearing them when she met husband Harry, who died days after their golden wedding 14 years ago.
But Kathleen has finally decided to donate them to be exhibited at a museum near her home in Hartlepool.
"Apart from the toes curling up a bit it's amazing they have lasted this long," The Sun quoted her, as saying.
"Hopefully they will be around for many more years to come to tell their story," she added.
