BUPC Called 24 hrs Nandigram bandh
Nandigram,(Midnapore) March 2 (UNI) The Bhumi Uchched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC)tonight called a 24 hrs Nandigram bandh tomorrow to protest the alleged attack of CPI(M) cader on BUPC members injuring 4.
4 BUPC members were shot at allegedly by CPI(M) caders at Satengabari village, according to S S Panda S.P East Midnapore.
Mr.Panda said one of the injure Debashish Mondal(25) of Keyakhali village who received a gunshot injury in his lower abdomen was first admitted into Maheshpur Health Centre and then transfer to SSKM Hospital at Kolkata this evening.
Mr.Panda said that the encounter started between the two groups throwing brick bats and then turn into exchange of fire.3 other BUPC supporters with minor injuries have been admitted into local Hospitals.
Subhendu Adhikari, Convener of BUPC and MLA alleged that CPI(M) was trying to create a rain of terror in the area prior to the visit of their leader,the Chief Minister.
Security has been beefed up in the area for the visit of the Chief Minister on Tuesday after this incident, S. S. Panda said.It may mentioned that the Chief Minister will address a Public meeting at Sitananda College maidan in Nandigram after distributing 224 acres of Patta lands to 1710 farmers in nandigram I block on Tuesday.
