BJP plans Telangana bandh during Ms Gandhi's visit
Hyderabd, Mar 2 (UNI) The BJP has called for a 'Telangana bandh' on March 14, during Congress President Sonia Gandhi visit to the city.
Informing this to newspersons here today, party state unit President Bandaru Dattatreya said the Congress and the UPA Government should spell out their stand on statehood for Telangana.
He said Ms Gandhi should make a statement in the public meeting in the city on Telangana issue.
The Congress, which promised to 'honour' the sentiments of the people of Telangana in the run up to the 2004 elections, had not taken any steps to keep its promise after winning the polls.
The BJP leader alleged that Ms Gandhi had failed to abide by the promises of a 'separate Telangana' she made during election campaigns in Karimnagar and Nizamabad in the Telangana region.
