VHP asks people to be ready for Ram Janma Bhumi-like movement
Kolkata, Mar 1 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today said it would launch a Ram Janma Bhumi-like agitation against the Union government to resist the Sethusamudram project and would seek the cooperation of all political parties for the same.
International secretary of the VHP, Praveen Togadia said the movement would be led by religious figures like the Sadhu and Sants and urged the party activists and the Hindu community to prepare themselves to fight against the Center's move to demolish the Ram Sethu.
Alleging that the Union government was not considering the Hindu sentiments, Mr Togadia said, ''the UPA's dream of coming to power again would not be fulfilled by appeasing the minority community because eighty crore Hindus would not remain a mute spectator.
