Two smugglers arrested, illegal timber seized in Kashmir
Srinagar Mar 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested two smugglers and seized illegal timber in the Kashmir valley early this morning, official sources said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Harmeet Singh said a police party established a naka at Sumbal following a tip off that smugglers were transporting illegal timber from the area.
He said police later arrested two smugglers Mashooq Ahmad Rather and Ali Mohammad Bhat.
A FIR number 53/2008 and 113/2008 under section 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act has been registered against the smugglers.
