Quake shakes Kashmir, no casualties reported
Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 shook Srinagar and its adjoining areas shortly after midnight last night forcing people to rush out of their houses.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, officials said.
A weather office spokesman said the tremors, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale were felt at 0011 hrs and lasted for few seconds.
The earthquake, third in the past ten days, was centred at 33.8 Latitude (North)and Longitude 74.5 East.
On February 25, tremors measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale were recorded and on February 20, earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 was felt in Srinagar.
