Chennai, Mar 1 (UNI) The Salem Inspector of Police (Crime) has been placed under suspension for trying to forcibly take popular film director A R Murugadoss from Chennai to Salem.
Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP), in a release here said Inspector of Police Krishnan was acting on a complaint lodged by film producer Chandrasekar against the director.
He said though preliminary investigation showed that there was no truth in the complaint, Mr Krishnan came to Chennai and tried to forcibly take Murugadoss to Salem.
This had triggered an unnecessary controversy and has brought bad name to the police, the DGP said. A departmental inquiry has been ordered and pending inquiry, Mr Krishnan was placed under suspension, the DGP added.
