EMRI inks MoU with city of Austin
Hyderabad, Mar 1 (UNI) The Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) here today signed an MoU with the City of Austin, Texas, to improve emergency response services.
EMRI Chief Executive Officer Venkat Chengavally and Austin Chief Information Officer Peter E Collins signed the MoU.
Mr Chengavally said the Austin's Combined Transportation, Emergency and Communications Centre (CTECC) and the EMRI would participate in several exchange programmes to study the other's operations.
Mr Chengavally said EMRIs would be set up in all the states under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) by 2010 and 10,500 ambulances would be pressed into service across the country.
About 3,000 ambulances would be utilised for emergency services in ten states by the year-end, he said.
The institute would sign an MoU with the Uttarakhand Government on March eight, Mr Chengavally added.
