Asif, Shakeel remanded to Judicial custody till Mar 14

Hubli, Mar 1: Suspected arrested terrorists Mohamed Asif and Shakeel Ahmed Mali were remanded to Judicial custody till March 14 by the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court III (JMFC III) when they were produced before him by the CoD police here today.

The case came up before JMFC III as JMFC II judge Srinivas was on leave. Assistant Public Prosecutor Kiran Patill said that due to security reason it was prayed to remand the duo to judicial custody at Dharwad jail. He said that allowing the defence lawyer's plea to meet his client, the Judge M K Ashok permitted the meeting during visitors hours only. The judge directed the jail authority to allow Asif's lawyer Mr I D Jalgar to meet him (Asif) subject to the prevailing rules.
