New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Amardeep Sankar hit a patient 73 as Haryana defeated Services by 36 runs in their Ranji Trophy (North Zone) one-day match here today.
Haryana, who elected to bat, had a slow start and lost their first wicket in the 12th over with just 44 runs on the board.
They suffered their second reversal soon after as Nitin Kumar (15) was caught by Rakesh Kumar off the bowling of Narender Kumar.
Amardeep and Sachin Rana then stiched together a partnership of 66 runs before the former was sent back by Arnav Kush. Amardeep, who faced 96 balls in his 73-run innings, studded his knock with six hits to the fence.
Rana (48) failed to complete his half-century being trapped leg before by A Sakuja. Haryana then lost two wickets in quick succession as Sumit Sharma (19) and Amit Mishra (3) were sent back in a space of just 5 runs with the scoreboard reading 179 for six.
After the dismissal of Druv Singh (5), Abir Lyasa (34 no) joined Kamal (23) at the crease and the duo took the score to a respectable 232 for seven in their alotted 50 overs.
Services suffered reverses early in their innings as Jasvir Singh (11) and Avishek Sinha (1) were sent back with just 36 runs on the board.
After the dismissal of Penta Rao (29), Soumik Chatterjee joined Tahir Khan and the duo put up a 82-run partnership before the latter was dismissed on 45.
Tahir Khan soon followed him after scoring a patient 75 off 128 runs.
The rest of the Services failed to put up any resistance as their crumbled in just 196 runs.
