7,49,000 Indians visit Singapore in 2007
Chennai, Mar 1: Year 2007 witnessed a record number of 7,49,000 Indians visiting Singapore, making India the fourth largest source market for the island nation's tourism sector with a growth of 14 per cent over 2006.
Singapore Tourism not only crossed the milestone of over ten million visitor arrivals for the first time in 2007, but also received a whopping 13.8 billion Singapore dollars in global tourism receipts, a Singapore Tourism Board release said here today, adding that the ten millionth visitor to Singapore was an Indian.
To further increase the visibility of Singapore to Indians, Singapore Tourism Board had kicked off a trade show in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, the release added.
