Warne not surprised by Hayden's frustration over reprimand

By Staff

Perth, Feb.29 : Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has said that he is not surprised about Mathew Hayden expressing his frustration over being reprimanded by Cricket Australia for his "obnoxious weed" comment against Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Warne, however, seemed surprised that the comments had caused a furore.

"If that is what he said, that is what he said. He obviously wanted to get it off his chest. So be it," The Australian quoted Warne, as saying.

"People do what they do, say those things and the board get involved, (but) hopefully it will all be settled and there will be some good cricket played in the finals," he added.

Asked about Harbhajan's description of Hayden as the most disliked Test player in the world, Warne said antagonism among rivals was part of the game.

"I suppose some individuals dislike other players more than us. I have disliked a few. I am sure a few disliked me as well, (but) I think that is what it is all about," he said.
