Greater Noida, Feb 29 (UNI) Police today arrested Ravindra Bhaati, son of Home Guard Minister Ved Ram Bhaati, in connection with the murder of three people in the Kasna area of Gautam Budh district of Uttar Pradesh.
Ved Ram Bhaati is also an accused in the case, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police A Sathish Ganesh told newspersons that unidentified assailants in a drive-by killing shot dead the owners of a transport company -- Shahabuddin, Yousuf and Suresh -- on February 6.
Speaking on behalf of the victims' family, one Nizamuddin alleged that Minister Bhaati and his son were involved in the crime.
Police have already arrested three people -- Ravi Putra Tejendra, Manoj and Ravi Putra Vijendra -- in the case.
Police raided several places to arrest the accused but to no avail. Police have also initiated proceedings relating to attachment of properties of those named in the case.
A court has proclaimed the accused as absconders under section 82 of CrPC.
Police raided Mandi Shyam Nagar this morning and arrested Ravinder Bhaati from his house, who pleaded innocence saying he had been a victim of political vendetta.
